Drag and Drop

As part of the changes made to the eCandidus™ Desktop in the second quarter of 2010, support to drang and drop was added to three key places:

Converting MS Word documents: You can now simply drag a MS Word document from the desktop, or any other place in your computer, into a eCandidus™ Document.   The document will be instantly converted and made available for further editing.

Getting the field codes: You know that you can click on the info button next to any field and copy the field definition to the clipboard.  You can then paste the code into a merge document.  Now you can also click on the same info button and drag the field definition into the document in one simple step!

MS Outlook and History Notes: Making an e-mail that you have received into a History Note cannot be easier.  Simply drag and drop from MS Outlook into either the Show History or Add History Note buttons in the case!   The e-mail message will be made into the note and any attachments will be made into note attachments.  Dropping into the Add History Note button gives you the further option of renaming the attachments on the fly.  It cannot be easier.

Reports: The new report engine in the eCandidus™ Desktop now makes use of field codes as the data source for each column.  This means that not only can you create a report by drag the field definitions like you would do in a document, you can also use the option codes to format the column.

Attachments: Attach any object to any other object by dragging the Where Used button of the source object to the Attach button of the master object. Similarly, you can drag any external document from the External buckets to the Attach button.

Sharing: Drag any public objects' Save as Object button to an MS Outlook or GMail message, or to your Windows Desktop.  The recipient can then drag it to their Desktop and add it to their system.

Forms: Need to make a merge form into a PDF?  Simply drag it to your Windows Desktop!
