With the introduction of DMNSion, eCandidus™ has three ways of handling documents, each has its own strengths and can be used together as required.
Attachments - The simplest to use. An attachment can be any file that is stored anywhere in your network. eCandidus™ keeps a pointer to the file and when called to display, runs the native Windows application linked to the file. The best place to hold attachments are in a shared folder in your server, which gives access to the file to any associate.
Document Manager - The most powerful. It takes an image file, like PDF or TIFF, and stores each page separately in the eCandidus™ database. Each page can then be annotated, areas can be highlighted and bookmarked, the page can be given a pseudo-title. Bookmarked pages can the be accessed via the bookmark, and pages can come from different documents, allowing you to organize trial exhibits or work to be reviewed easily. Since the data is stored in the eCandidus™ database, it can be used in workflows.
DMNSion - Our newest entry. DMSNion is designed to provide a link between you and your copy service provider. As work is done by the service, images are made available to you over the Internet. You can also, if so allowed by the provider, add to the documents stored. As the images are accesible over the Internet, you have full access anywhere to them via your laptop or devices like the Apple iPad.
As you can see, eCandidus™ strongly believes in the idea of the paperless office. And more than just the idea, we provide you with the tools to make it a reality today.
