This is the first in what I hope will be a long sequence of news, hints and ideas regarding all the products in the eCandidus product family.
Most of you know me personally, and know how I work. Few of you know the history of eCandidus and how you make use of the basic concept, a work object.
The idea begun in the mid 1980's. Where most computer systems are based around the concept of a table, many rows of information, each having the same number of columns, eCandidus is based on the idea of working with one item, like a case, a thing to do or a document, each having any number of "columns", which do not have to be the same from object to object.
This is how most people actually work, you look up an address or review a case. Each being different from the other, but sharing attributes, like when you are working with a case, you would like others to be warned about it and prevented from undoing work that you are doing.
The other critical item in eCandidus is the idea that a very important fact about any one object is its relationship with other objects. The best place to see this is our Front Desk, if I know person X, which cases is he/she involved in? Another place are attachments, I did this work on case X, show me the letter that was generated, the thing to do that is the follow up and the appointment that I need to attend.
These are some of the ideas behind eCandidus. Stay tuned and I will expand on my work and how you can use it...
Thank you
