The Format Menu handles the formatting of text in Documents.

Entry	Meaning
Character...	Displays the Font Dialog and changes the font for the characters selected
Paragraph...	Displays the Paragraph Dialog and changes the paragraph layout
Tabs...	Displays the Tabs Dialog and allows changes to the tab rack
Bullets and Numbering	Displays the Bullets and Numbering sub-menu
Styles...	Displays the Styles Dialog
Text Color...	Displays the Color Dialog and allows changes to the text color
Text Background Color...	Displays the Color Dialog and allows changes to the text background color
Document Background Color...	Displays the Color Dialog and allows changes to the document background color

Increase Level	Increases the level of the selection
Decrease Level	Decreases the level of the selection
1, 2, 3	Sets the level indicator to be numbers
A, B, C	Sets the level indicator to be uppercase letters
a, b, c	Sets the level indicator to be lowercase letters
I, II, III, IV	Sets the level indicator to be uppercase roman numerals
i, ii, iii, iv	Sets the level indicator to be lowercase roman numerals
